March for Independence - Carmarthen

“Embodying the courage and spirit of Merched Beca, we invite all supporters of an independent Wales to join us on June 22nd for the March for Independence in Carmarthen! We will be gathering at Carmarthen Park from 11am, with the march starting at 1pm. Bring your posters, flags, banners and drums—bring your passion, your family, and your friends. MARCH ROUTE / MAP


CARMARTHEN PARK (SA31 3AX) > Morfa Lane > St Catherine St > Barn Rd > John Street > Cambrian Pl > Chapel St > Lammas St > Morfa Lane > CARMARTHEN PARK.


The march route will travel on the main road for the majority. A small part will be in a pedestrian zone but the pavement drops to the height of the road on entry and exit therefore the route is wheelchair / pushchair accessible.



 

INDY WALES RALLY - Following the March


Following the march there will be a Rally at Carmarthen Park, starting from around 2pm, with a large stage and screen, speakers and music. These are the speakers and performers who have confirmed so far:

HOW TO GET THERE


We encourage everyone to arrive in Carmarthen by 12pm, and to travel via public transport if possible. Both train and bus stations in Carmarthen are located on the map above and are within walking distance to Carmarthen Park.


YESCYMRU BUS FROM THE NORTH-WEST - YesCymru have organised a bus from Llangefni, calling at Bangor, Caernarfon, Gellilydan, Dolgellau and Machynlleth. Tickets are available here.

TRAINS - We have advised Transport for Wales of the date and timings of the march, but it may be a good idea to book in advance and to take as early a train as possible. Full info is available via the traveline.cymru journey planner.

POST MARCH GIG - 6pm, Saturday 22/06/24. Boar's Head, Carmarthen.
